I painted this Tortoiseshell Finish document box featuring an old sailing ship on the lid as a present for my husband Greg in 1997. I adapted the ship design from an 18th century painting and added a faux tortoishell finish to the lid surround and sides of the box. It is painted in acrylics using a variety of techniques including wet on wet blending on the sails.

Original designs by Cheryl Bradshaw.

I have a variety of different coloured nastursiums growing in my garden and was inspired to paint these flowers for seminars I was teaching in 1996.

French Toile Powder Bowl.

I adapted this design from some French Toile fabric which is used for upholstering to teach as a workshop in 1998. It is all painted with a liner brush and one colour. The depth is created by building up the shadow areas with layers of very fine lines. It really helps improve ones liner work skills.

IRIS STUDY.

I adapted these iris's from a project in one of the late Dorothy Mullins books. Dorothy's beautiful iris's were painted in oils so it was a challenge to try painting them in acrylics. I taught this project as a seminar in 1998.

FLORAL FIRE SCREEN.

This fire screen was painted about 5 years ago. I needed a fire screen so adapted this floral pattern from an Enid Hosseinger design and chose colours to fit into the colour scheme of my lounge room. It is painted in the multiloaded technique that Enid uses for her wonderful floral designs.
